Winners of the Crab Bash

crab bashTuesday's Crab Bash at B&O American Brasserie was a fun event with about 250 guests in attendance. Their votes counted in the judging of crab dishes at 10 chef stations, which included out-of-town restaurants.

But Baltimore ruled, as chef Cyrus O'Keefe, the new chef at Maisy's, won the People's Choice award for his "Blue Crab and White Corn Raviolini."

The Best of Show award, voted on unanimously by four invited judges—Sam Sessa of The Sun, Jojo Girard of Mix 106.5, food blogger Dara Bunjon, and me—went to chef Dave Newman of Brewer's Art for his "Baltimore Crab Chili Dog," featuring a crab sausage with chili mayo and crushed corn chips on a homemade pretzel bun.

We also liked chef O'Keefe's dish a lot, too, but we could only pick one winner.

Actually, there were no losers in this competition, which benefited the National Aquarium.
