RSS FEEDSpike Gjerde's coffee shop, Artifact Coffee, is scheduled to open next month, though the exact date hasn't been announced yet. Spike, chef/owner of Woodberry Kitchen is partnering with Woodberry's head barista Allie Caran on the project.
Just as Woodberry relies on local, seasonal ingredients, Artifact will also feature food and beverages that are local and made-to-order. While coffee is the focus, the shop will feature a menu that targets the time of day—morning kitchen, day kitchen, and night kitchen—with appropriate foods, all priced under $15, for each time frame.
Allie, who holds coffee cuppings every Friday at Woodberry, will continue the cuppings at Artifact when it opens. She works in conjunction with Counter Culture Coffee and plans to serve seasonal, direct trade coffee at the restaurant.
Artifact is located in the redeveloped Union Mill building in the Hampden area.
