Today at Cafe Hon

cafe honLook for a new chef at Cafe Hon. Chef Gordon Ramsay of Fox's Kitchen Nightmares was back in town today to check on "how it's going," said Denise Whiting, owner of Hamden's Cafe Hon.

"My big issue is I need a chef," said Denise, who was taping a follow-up today to an episode of Kitchen Nightmares that aired in February. "And he has found someone for us."

Chef Ramsay was expected to introduce a local chef named Faith to Denise sometime this afternoon.

There also will be some additions to the menu, including a guacamole burger with pepper Jack cheese, pictured with Denise. She served the burger to chef Ramsay during his visit this afternoon, she said.

When asked how business had been doing since the original episode aired, she said, "We don't have the trademark. That was what was the thing."

Denise had raised the ire of many in the community when she had trademarked the Baltimore endearment "Hon" last year. During chef Ramsay's first visit, she announced that she was giving up the trademark.

The new episode is expected to air in the fall.
