New restaurants announced for Towson

Towson is angling to be the area's next restaurant destination. Three restaurants—Nando's Peri-Peri, La Tagliatella, and On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina—will be part of the Towson Square entertainment complex, it was announced today.

They are the first of eight restaurants that will join Cinemark Theatres in the project being developed between East Joppa Road, Pennsylvania Avenue, and Virginia Avenue, the Baltimore Sun reported.

The other five restaurants will be unveiled later this year. The complex, pictured, is expected to be completed in 2014.

Another restaurant, Cunningham's—a New American, farm-to-table concept—is scheduled to open this summer in the Towson City Center. It is part of the Bagby Restaurant Group, which operates Bagby Pizza Co., Ten Ten, and Fleet Street Kitchen near Harbor East.
