Keep Em Busy

Sorry for the hiatus last week. Saturday was both my birthday and youngest son Benny's (that picture is us, b-day morning), so I was preoccupied with parties and presents (mostly his)...

Lots of stuff this weekend: The Irish Festival runs all weekend at the Timonium Fairgrounds and has lots of performances, food, and tournaments (darts, cornhole). The kids' areas has lots of moon bounces, mini-golf, and face painting, among other things.

Creative Alliance at the Patterson runs their Kerplunk! program a few Saturdays each season, and the Fall session starts this week. It's just a simple, free drop-in art program that runs from 12 to 3pm. We've been a few times and we love it. The facilitators are really good at getting kids of all ages to participate in really creative projects—over the summer they created pinwheels and used packing tape to transfer images from old books. I also like that it's an easy way to expose the kids to the great art at the Patterson. Head to Matthew's across the street for pizza afterwards!

Get ready for Baltimore's first lantern parade next weekend with one of two lantern-making workshops around town.

Have a great one!
