And they've been busy. Working with Walter Schmau and SMG Architects (known for projects like the Hippodrome, Bromo Seltzer Tower, and B&O Railroad Museum) and Kodiak Construction, they are steadily reconstructing the restaurant. Framing has been up since April and they're now working on plumbing and electrical tasks.
In addition to the rebuild, Frisch and Lichty have pioneered the brick project, which invites people to purchase a customized brick to be placed at the entrance of the reopened tavern. The cost of each brick is $75 and proceeds will go to the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. Bricks can be purchased here.
One last, but important, detail: The tavern has an expected reopening date of early November. We can't wait!
