Fab Crab: Close to 600 attendees swarmed the BMA’s sculpture garden for the House of Ruth Maryland’s annual crab feast. Options ranged from crab and shrimp lo mein to classic Maryland crab cakes created by Gertrude’s with libations provided by The Wine Source and Clipper City Brewing Company.
Serious Business: House of Ruth is the area’s largest domestic violence center, providing shelter and services to battered women and children. It also advocates for stronger domestic violence laws, an effort that bore fruit this year when the state legislature passed two new laws that empower judges to order domestic abusers to surrender their guns. Between ticket sales, donations, and auction proceeds, Crabaret raised almost $150,000 for the House of Ruth.
