Faces in the Crowd: Actors from The Wire—including Andre Royo (aka Bubbles), Michael K. Williams (aka Omar), and Corey Parker Robinson (aka Det. Sydnor)—returned to town to support former castmate Sonja Sohn’s nonprofit ReWired for Change, which was the beneficiary of this year's Pints & Pinstripes party thrown by Baltimore-based event planners Sky Blue Events. The stars mingled with guests during a VIP reception in Silo Point’s glass-and-steel Sky Lounge before heading into the penthouse for the main event, which featured a DJ, upscale beer garden, candy bar, and silent auction.
Thinking Big: The evening raised more than $7,000 for ReWired for Change, an organization that supports kids from underserved communities through arts and intervention programs, which Sohn hopes to grow in Baltimore and eventually implement in other cities. As Williams, a ReWired for Change board member said, “It’s bigger than just Baltimore. A lot of kids are suffering and falling through the cracks. This is every city in America.”
