There's a certain nostalgia about seeing a window display that harkens back to the days of Baltimore's grand department stores. But Stephanie Bradshaw, 32, ended up in the business just last year, when a boutique-owning client posed the question: "What would you do with that window?" Bradshaw, a business developer for Select Event Rentals, has four steady windows that she changes quarterly, including those of two stores in Hampden, one in Mt. Washington, and one in Federal Hill. "I love combining what's beautiful with what's going to sell," says Bradshaw, who also owns Bradshaw Interiors. "I love the strategy behind it." Inspiration sometimes strikes the Glyndon resident at night—where her dreams are filled with storefronts. Other times, it comes from a piece of fabric or an old wooden board. Whether you're strolling down Hampden's Avenue or whipping along Falls Road, her windows tell a story. "You look at it—but you don't get all the details at once," she says. "And there's a little bit of humor."
