Spotted at New Psalmist Baptist Church, Baltimore
Where do you live? Northeast Baltimore.
Are you a Baltimore native? Yes.
Is there a Baltimore style? When I was growing up, the Sunday ladies would wear hats and gloves. Baltimore is getting back into that fashion, wearing hats along with dress clothes.
Describe your own style. My own style is presentable. I try to keep my hair in place. I love to wear lipstick all the time. People pick on me for my red lips.
What are you wearing? I got this suit from my hairdresser who was selling it. She was trying to get rid of it. It's a purple suit with a purple hat from Value City or Burlington's. I would have worn my purple shoes to match but I can't wear heels like that anymore!
Who are your fashion icons? My fashion icon is my mother—her hats and her gloves. She always dressed nice for church. Also, my Aunt Alberta, my father's sister.
Is this your work outfit? This is just my church outfit. I wear scrubs to work.
How do you dress when you're not at work? Jeans with a nice top. Skirts or dresses. I love to wear two- and three-inch heels.
How do you personalize your business look? I wear uniforms that match and try to look clean and pressed with my work shoes on.
What are your favorite places to shop in Baltimore? White Marsh, Burlington's, East Point Shopping Center, Sears, JC Penney.
What's your favorite item of clothing? Suits—this one that I'm wearing. Purple is a sign of royalty.
What's the most you ever paid for a single item of clothing and what was it? $150 for a suit.
How many pairs of shoes do you own? Oh Lord! Probably about 100. Dress shoes, pumps, flats, tennis shoes. A variety to go with whatever you are putting on. I like shoes that match my suits.
Are you a bargain hound? Oh yeah, always look for the sale first. I always go to the clearance rack.
Is there an item you are currently coveting? A fur stole.
What was your best outfit ever? A dress I wore on a cruise. It was a black gown with sheer material in the back and it showed a little cleavage. It was very different from what I normally wear—I was trying to be daring!
