Seattle's Best hot chocolate from the Pratt Café in the Central Library
I love chocolate. I always start my day with a steaming cup of hot chocolate.
I'm not much of a technology or gadget person, but I've fallen for the Wii Fit. It gives me a chance to work out in the comfort of my own home instead of going to a gym. So, every time I see kids playing the Wii in our library, I think, "I can do that!"
I use them all the time: to take down messages, to tag newspaper articles, for reminders, and so much more. Post-its may be one of the best inventions ever. However, staff members groan when they see one!
This striking painting by local artist Tonya Ingersol is hanging on the wall outside my office. It captures the essence of Baltimore and the people I serve.
Pratt Library Card
I don't leave the house without it because I can use it anywhere in Maryland. It's always in my wallet, and I encourage everyone to get their own.
My happy shoes
They're like Dorothy's ruby slippers. I wear them not only for comfort but to remind me of the simple joys in life.
Good French Champagne is my favorite beverage to toast celebrations, birthdays, and any happy occasion. Discovering new varieties has become a passion, and I enjoy sharing my finds with friends.
Trips to Paris
My regular trips to the "City of Lights" with my mother. I look forward to these vacations because Paris is a place for inspiration, ideas, museums, and great shopping. I always receive compliments on the items I bring back.
Dinner at Gertrude's
It's a beautiful setting looking out at the sculpture garden. The BMA has one of the best gift shops in town, and Gertrude's food is the best, especially the salmon alla bella and the Mississippi mud pie.
Visits from my young cousin Taylor
He's an artist, Manga fan, and University of Texas student. As the youngest member in the family, his yearly visits keep me up-to-date on the latest movies and trends. I'm an only child, and this family connection means the world to me.
