A few years back, when people were realizing that there was a market for selling their DIY projects, a group of friends, each with a small business of their own, decided to join forces to create Charm City Craft Mafia. Formed in 2006, the tightknit, Baltimore-based group promotes the crafting community of Baltimore through sponsoring events, their blog (charmcitycraftmafia.com), and fairs. Although Craft Mafia is no longer accepting new members, crafters, both national and local, can take part by applying to participate in the group’s annual craft shows, hosted twice a year—Pile of Craft (spring) and Holiday Heap (winter).
On December 1, the annual Holiday Heap craft show comes to St. John’s Church in Charles Village. You’ll find some of our favorite local crafters along with talented out-of-towners offering their one-of-a-kind pieces, ranging from jewelry to clothing and home décor.
Holiday Heap, St. John’s Church, 2640 St. Paul St., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
