But that’s not what sets Dr. Becker apart: He is, in fact, the sole certifying instructor for Total BioPAK® internationally, one of the first CEREC® users 20 years ago, and a keynote speaker on the topic all over the U.S. and the world, as well as being an independent researcher into new technology in the field. Hakan Koymen, DDS
MS Luz Tennassee, DDS
Chesapeake Pediatric Dental Group 5009 Honeygo Center Drive • Suite 228 Perry Hall, MD 21128
410-248-3384
For the past two years, Drs. Koymen and Tennassee have been voted “Top Pediatric Dentists” by their peers in the annual Baltimore magazine survey, reinforcing not only the appreciation from their patients, but also the confidence that other dentists have in referring patients to them. “We build trust with children at an early age and reinforce the ideology of prevention,” says Dr. Koymen, who attended the University of Maryland for his post-graduate residency in pediatric dentistry. “If we can treat children at an early age, we can help work with families to promote prevention, rather than having to work backwards and restore an already established decay process.” “Many parents ask me when their children should first see the dentist,” says Dr. Tennassee, who also did her training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Maryland. “I always advise them that a child’s first dental visit is recommended by the Academy of Pediatrics and the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry no later than one year of age.” Many parents don’t understand why early visits are so crucial, “but if we can help acclimate children to the dental setting early on, and at the same time discuss with parents the importance of a healthy diet and hygiene habits, those children tend to have lower decay rates, and better and happier future dental visits,” says Dr. Koymen.

For Mohit and Jennifer Virmani, the most gratifying expression of a patient’s satisfaction is when they refer friends and family members to the practice. “It shows they want to share the experience they received,” says Moe, who has been practicing dentistry with his wife in the Baltimore area for nearly a decade. The Virmanis’ practice, Naylors Court Dental Partners, emphasizes the philosophy that patients should be treated both comprehensively and compassionately. They conduct thorough evaluations of each patient before developing a tailored treatment plan, employing the latest technologies, including in-office teeth whitening, digital radiography, and laser cavity detection. “We understand that most patients don’t like going to the dentist,” says Jennifer. “By incorporating techniques such as intraoral cameras and nitrous oxide, we can help them understand their needs and allow them to feel more relaxed.”
Both Mohit and Jennifer graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Jennifer then completed her general practice residency at the VA Medical Center in West Los Angeles. Moe completed his residency with the U.S. Army at Ft. Lewis, Washington. When they are not practicing dentistry, the couple keeps busy with their twin toddler daughters.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Banda has transformed MD Laser Medicine & Surgery into a leading provider of minimally invasive cosmetic laser and vein procedures, including Smartlipo™ and Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) for the treatment of varicose veins. At MD Laser Medicine & Surgery, expert knowledge, professionalism, and a friendly atmosphere consistently rank high on patient satisfaction surveys—and they are recurring themes in patient testimonials. “Our success is measured by our patients’ satisfaction with the quality of our care—and achievement of their desired goals,” says Dr. Banda. “We take pride in the fact that more than half of our new patients are referred by our existing patients.” Dr. Banda has earned patients’ trust by first addressing the underlying cause of their varicose veins before proceeding with cosmetic treatment. “Unsightly and painful varicose veins are caused by a medical condition called chronic venous insufficiency,” says Dr. Banda. “Fortunately, with an out patient treatment option such as EVLT, which is covered by health insurance, we can not only help our patients look their best but also feel their best.”
Laser Medicine and Surgery has become a medical specialty in its own right. Dr. Banda is board-certified in dermatologic laser surgery by the American Board of Laser Surgery. As the official foot-care providers for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, “WeTreatFeet” says it all. With locations in Owings Mills, Dundalk, Eldersburg, and Towson, the practice is skilled in treating sports-medicine injuries, broken bones, bunions, neuromas, arthritic conditions of both the foot and ankle, and flat feet. For the diabetic foot, the practice offers wound-care services, shoes, inserts, and a certified wound-care physician. The practice offers state-of-the-art equipment including computer-assisted gait analysis, digital x-ray, ultrasound, vascular testing equipment, electronic medical records, and an online medical locker. WeTreatFeet provides exceptional and compassionate care for everything from the simplest nail problems to the most complex foot deformities. Custom orthotics are a specialty of the practice, creating devices for the flattest flat feet to the highest high arches.
The podiatrists in this group have spent years learning the intricate structures and functions of the human foot and ankle. “No knees or elbows here,” says Dr. Mike Daniels, who heads the group. “We provide the best foot and ankle care available in all of Maryland.” Dr. Daniels and his colleagues Drs. Felton, Matthews, and Pizarro emphasize preventive treatment, using surgical options to correct problems only when necessary, with a goal of eliminating problems and providing relief for the long term. “We focus on conservative options first,” says Dr. Daniels. Services are available for people of all ages, from infants to seniors. Their motto is, “No foot is too small, no problem is too big, because WeTreatFeet and the people attached to them!”
