On Thursday, I braved the icky weather to head down 97 and hit the new Annapolis Towne Centre. There are still lots of shops not open yet (including Urban Chic), but if you can stand the construction noise while you shop—it's still worth the trip.
I could spend hours at Anthropologie. The displays are insanely gorgeous and clever and even though I didn't buy them I was fawning over the Eat Local dessert plates and monogrammed cuffs. I also loved the One Hundred Summits dress and this coat dress. But my favorite item of the day were these crazy headbands. Paper Source always makes me wish I was more creative. I skipped over the photo card kits and bought a few greeting cards (including an appropriate holiday card for the dog walker) and just circled around until I forced myself to leave.
I had lunch with my pal Wendy Pierce, marketing director with Annapolis-based Hobo International. I love their bags—but it's the wallets that really make me happy. How gorgeous (yet sensible) is the Rachel-Holiday tri-fold frame wallet?
There's also a new Target with one of those shopping cart escalators. Just make sure to pull the kids out before you send that thing down.

P.S. Also, don't miss lululemon athletica—an athletic apparel company with loads of yoga gear.
