31 Days of Gift Giving—Day 12

robot

For that build-it-yourself kind of kid—this tin can robot kit ($18.99 at the Maryland Science Center) will not only encourage your children to recycle, but also teach them the scientific fundamentals of robotics (but honestly, they'll just think it's pretty darn neat). Visit the Science Store at the Maryland Science Center to have an educational family fun day while checking off some names from that holiday list—multitasking is always great (especially this time of year).

For the dog and cat lovers in your life, these pillowcases ($29 at Phina's for the Home) have more than just a fun message on them—for each one purchased from now until Dec. 31, Phina's will donate $5 to Recycled Love (a non-profit animal rescue organization).

31 Days of Gift Giving—Day 10

After speaking with Ron Samuelson of Samuelson's Diamonds about their new build-a-ring program, we have great news for you—it's not too late to order that custom made engagement ring just in time for the holidays. According to Samuelson, the jeweler can offer quick turnaround time (many within two weeks) depending on how intricate the design may be. Plus, with their new diamond search program, you can choose from over 6,000 diamonds based on their many characteristics including, cut, clarity, color, carat, and price. Get started by clicking the image above!

31 Days of Gift Giving—Day 9

Last night I was honored to attend a holiday celebration at Bijoux Jewels, located at The Gatehouse at Green Spring Station. Bijoux is best known for their large selection of period antique and estate jewelry in the Baltimore area. Because there are too many amazing pieces to choose from, we decided to give you different options based on the specific period. With the help from Bijoux’s Renee Wilson (owner) and Natasha Goberman, here are our top picks.

31 Days of Gift Giving—Day 8

calendar

We can all appreciate the "cute puppy of the month" calendar, but for those who may want something a little more contemporary (and reusable) we suggest this Perpetual Calendar ($29) from West Elm. Don't forget to visit West Elm's pop-up shop at Towson Town Center (on the 2nd level) which we had the opportunity to visit last month to pull some great home accessories to shoot -- be sure to look out for B-mag's January issue!
