Fresh Boutique Trunk Show

The ABS Trunk Show has been rescheduled for Thursday, November 15th from 12-7pm. The Trunk Show will feature day, evening, cocktail and formal dresses. ABS, a company based out of LA, will have the dresses in-stock at Fresh Boutique. Instead of having to order what you want, like most trunk shows, you will be able to try on your size and take it home that day. There will be a raffle and refreshments. The Boxwood Collection: Events to Come


The Boxwood Collection
is hosting an open house for the holidays this weekend. The event takes place today, November 9, from 10am-7pm, tomorrow, Saturday, November 10, from 10am-5pm, and Sunday November 11, from 12-5pm. The open house will feature raffles and food and an opportunity to chat with the vendors.

Oyin Handmade Launched at Whole Foods Market, Harbor East

Oyin Handmade, a Baltimore-based natural body product line, has launched at Whole Foods Market, Harbor East. The line features hair, skin, and body products all made of natural ingredients which are handmade locally in Baltimore. With natural ingredients like honey and aloe, the items promote healing in both skin and hair.

Steve Madden Arrives in Towson

For all those shoe fanatics in the area, get excited because Steve Madden will finally be opening at the Towson Town Center on November 8. If you are like me, you have been waiting for this day for a very, very long time.

The store willbe opening on Level 3 of the Nordstrom Wing of the mall. As a prominent footwear brand for young men and women, Steve Madden offers popular trends and styles of shoes for all walks of life.

The grand opening event will take place on Saturday, November 10 from 12-6 p.m. If you make a purchase of $50 or more, you will recieve a free gift! But get there early as it is only while supplies last.

lululemon athletica Opens in Harbor East


The Vancouver BC-based yoga and running specialty brand for men and women, opens its newest location today in Harbor East. Lululemon athletica is best known for high-quality (and super stylish) active apparel, and community outreach—encouraging a healthy lifestyle with (free!) in-store yoga classes and other events led by their community ambassadors. The move from the Fells Point showroom to the Harbor East spot, gives the area a full retail store with more space and merchandise, regular hours, and special touches to the design of both the interior and exterior. The Art of Giving

The Renaissance Fine Art Gallery and Ruth Shaw, Inc., will be hosting the 3rd annual Art of Giving charity event on Friday, September 21, 2012.

The event, a fashion show featuring Ruth Shaw’s most recent fall merchandise, will benefit the Baltimore School for the Arts and Kennedy Krieger Institute. It will take place from 11:30 a.m- 1:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Fine Arts Gallery (located at 1848 Reisterstown Road, in Pikesville).

Tickets are $150 per person ($125 of which is tax deductible) and include a light lunch. If you cannot make the event, buy a raffle ticket and be entered to win a Michele Watch, donated by Radcliffe Jewelers or Art by Dupre, donated by Renaissance Fine Arts. Ruth Shaw will donate a third prize that has not been announced yet.

Q&A with Christian Siriano

Fashion designer, Maryland native, and Baltimore School for the Arts alumnus Christian Siriano opens his first boutique in the Big Apple.

 

Recently I got to chat with Christian Siriano about his new store (which celebrates its launch today), his upcoming collection, and some fond memories of his time spent in Baltimore.  

  

When attending BSA, were there some places in Baltimore that you gathered inspiration from?

The teachers we had were very inspiring. What was really nice was that a lot of them showed at local galleries. I remember I had this one teacher, Kirsten Rook, who was doing this story of interesting jewelry using felt. I just thought she was the coolest girl—I loved her and thought she was a very eccentric person. I was very young and still learning, so I kind of was inspired by anything. Baltimore is a good city. It was a very creative city at the time I was there and...

Boh Honors Scunny

In the past week several of our editors, Suzanne Loudermilk, Ron Cassie, and Jess Blumberg, blogged about the horrible news of Patrick “Scunny” McCusker's fatal bicycle accident that happened last Friday night in Ocean City. As the owner of Nacho Mama’s and Mama’s on the Half Shell, he was a staple in the Baltimore community and will be truly missed.
