UPDATE: Due to the weather, the Fashion Saves Lives fashion show event that we blogged about has been postponed to January 14, 2014.
WHAT: Fashion Saves Lives
WHEN: Tuesday, December 10 from 6 to 9 p.m.
WHERE: Port Discovery
DETAILS: The American Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) is hosting its first annual Fashion Saves Lives event at Port Discovery, in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Breast Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The show will include models from Johns Hopkins, both medical staff and members of its breast cancer survivorship group, as well as local notable figures like Baltimore Ravens Justin Tucker, fitness entrepreneur Lynne Brick, and WBAL-TV's Sarah Caldwell. Jones and Jones will be providing the women's clothing and Jos. A. Bank will be taking care of the men's looks. The funds raised from this event will go towards grants for early detection breast cancer screenings and diagnostic tests for those who cannot afford them. Tickets are $25 for general admission, which includes entrance to the fashion show, a tour of Port Discovery Children’s Museum, and a “Taste of Baltimore”—a food tasting from Baltimore restaurants. The $125 VIP ticket will also include reserved seating for the show, access to the catered VIP lounge, and one screening mammogram for an ABCF client. You can purchase both here. For more information visit the event's Facebook page.
