The Next Big: History Lesson

"At Freedom's Door: Challenging Slavery in Maryland" is a project researched and designed by students at MICA and Morgan State University that examines the struggles against slavery (the show opens this month at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture, the Maryland Historical Society, and Maryland Institute College of Art). MICA's George Ciscle—one of the show's curators—says that the exhibition will "investigate Maryland's complex and often contradictory relationship to slavery."
