You know the feeling: You're driving around trying to find parking, settle on a spot, and spend the whole night worrying if you'll get a ticket. Well, now there's an app for that. Spotagent.com is a new website and smartphone application that will help drivers assess the risk of receiving a ticket wherever they park. Using data that the city released in January, developers James Schaffer and Shea Frederick determine the threat of getting a ticket at specific locations. "The program looks up every ticket that's been given within 200 meters," says Frederick, pictured, left. "We can see what kind of tickets are given, what's most often given, and the cost." From there, drivers can make a more informed decision. "We're not trying to scam the city out of parking revenue," Schaffer says. "We're just trying to help residents pick the most appropriate places to park."
