For as long as I can remember, the Best of Baltimore has been my favorite issue of this magazine. I thought this year I would compile my own little list of Balti-more Bachelorette-approved "Bests" for my readers. (Just to be clear, these are only my opinions!)
Best Place to Go on a Dinner Date: Ciao Bella in Little Italy. Everything you could want on a date: a perfect atmosphere, fair prices, great wine, and amazing Italian food.
Best Place to Leave Your Mark: Luckies Liquors. With every surface being a chalkboard, it's your chance to become a graffiti artist. Write funny things about your friends, draw caricatures of each other, or write a flirty message to a guy or girl you have your eye on in the place.
Best Cocktail Creation: Vodka and Crystal Light. This is my favorite drink and you can have it anywhere. I buy the Crystal Light packets and keep them in my purse. Then, when I get to a bar, I order a vodka and water, then put half a packet in and mix it up. There is no sugar, only five calories in a whole packet (that's two drinks!), and, with all the water you are drinking, you don't get a hangover! Try it!
Best Excuse When You Have Cellulite on the Beach: "It's not cellulite, I was just sitting on a weird chair before I got here." LOL.
Best Event to Drink a Lot and Still Feel Classy: Wine in the Woods. I never miss this event held each May in Columbia. You can tell people you spent the day "wine-tasting," when, in reality, it's just like bar-hopping through the woods! Just remember the classy effect wears off when you start drinking straight from the bottle.
Best Shots: Orange Whips from Elliott's Pour House. These little puppies are both delicious and dangerously addictive. Served like a bomb, they taste just like a creamsicle.
Best Bathroom to Freshen Up In: PBR. The back bathroom by the DJ not only has Victoria's Secret scents, but Listerine, Smarties, and Blow Pops!
Best Eye-Candy Bartender: Mark Whipple from Bourbon Street. From the first day I saw him, I nicknamed him "Hot Guy," and when you see him you will see why. He's much more fun to look at than just a bunch of liquor bottles. Plus, he's a twin!
Best Pickup Line to Use on Men: "You're hot." Ladies, trust me, you don't need gourmet worms to catch a trout. Just drop the two-word bait as you walk by him, add some alluring eye contact, and see if he bites.
Best Party to Meet People: The Best of Baltimore Party! Held this year on Aug. 18th at the Hippodrome, the Best-of party is the perfect place to run into people you know, and meet new ones. I never miss it! Food, drinks, music, and great people. (Shameless plug, I know.)
